* M A R A M U R E S *

My favourite piece of world, Maramures (Romania) is one of Europe´s best kept secrets, a place where time stands still, where rural customs, traditions, craft skills and human kindness are well preserved. This place is the right place, when you are sick of modern techologies, city, traffic, or just have enough of constantly dissatisfied people around you.. To take a rest of everyday useless  hurry and realize, that people somewhere far far away are happy and smiley and full of colours, even if they have less than us, but oppositely they have sometimes much more.. and with no problems to share. Personally, i can´t say this about my country. So please, if anyone still poorly lives in opinion, that Romania is just about homeless dogs and gypsies, go there, instead of Croatia or Greece and make up your mind..

This roadtrip we did with three ladybirds, tired of daily duties, work, children.. decided to chill out their tired minds in different destination than people used to go for.

I was already ending up my living and studing in Romania for one year and this three woman, with my mum including (orange hair lady), came to pick me and take me back to Slovakia. It was awesome to watch them losing silly prejudices against Romania.

no plans, no accomodation, no moody husbands and noisy children.. 

i pretty enjoyed their endless bliss satisfied smiling :)

people live like this and let you go in if they see you are a tourist,

offer you accomodation, or handmade carpet to buy, or just some kind words

NATURAL WASHING MACHINE for carpets

.people from all village are bringing carpets at this place and let it wash by itselfs, what takes some hours..during washing or drying, nobody stills the carpet of others

this region is known by traditional woven textilles

i don´t eremember exactly what flavour of soup was this, 

but it was dammmn good!!

grandma and granddaughter are spending time together by spinning wool... i want it :)

Jana found and took a piece of carpet from the natural washing machine as a souvenir,

she will make a jewellery from it, as i know her..

this was very nice.. local bakery for all village. we were sitting next door and watching woman cooperating and they offered us a fresh hot homemade bread for free. the bread was awesome.

and the ladies very lovely.

during walking, a person could see carpets everywhere hung on the gates, in case of interest, citizens were very kind to sell. tradition is, the older carpet, the more expensive is. but still not so much to not be able to be bought even by poor student :)

this handsome guy, local farmer noticed us in the morning, waking up with the sun and brought us big bowl of fresh, still warm sheep cheese!! Angel.. what to say..

we were arriving at home with big smiles at our faces and spiritual harmony which stayed inside of us for a long time after
